Well we did it, a day jam packed with as much information as our Happy Campers could take, and we lived to tell the tale. I cant lie, I wasn’t sure quite how the day would go, bearing in mind we had so many guest speakers coming along. I was afraid it may have been information overload, but it worked.
Though it may not have sounded like the most fun, exciting day (well, a day in the Gower was always going to set the bar high) it turned out surprising good. So, who came? We had…
The Health & Safety Executive; Refuse Collection; Campsite Mentors; Licensing; Planning; Tourism; The Camping & Caravan Club, Vale Marketing Group, Capital Region Tourism….and us! Phew! Lots to take in, and that’s exactly what our star pupil landowners did. Top marks all round.
The liking of our Coastal Camping project to a baby carefully and lovingly watched over by the Midwives (Nicola and myself!) by Claire the Tourism Marketing Manager was spot on.
And so here we are, full to the brim of all we need to know about running a campsite…. well in theory at least. And so it’s now over to the ‘babies’ as they take their ‘first steps’ in setting up their camp sites. (Sorry, couldn’t resist).
Next step for the landowners; costs. For us, the exciting part; marketing and branding. Can’t wait to share it with you.
